History
The Lyceum is located in the former Stadstimmertuin, once a multi-wharf port used to build barges and city works. After the surrounding area was reclaimed, the city printer and two schools, including the Lyceum, were built on the site in the early 20th century. In the 1930s and 1960s, the building was extensively remodelled, with the complete replacement of the roof floor producing what is now the penthouse.
